Air Purifier Buying Guide
Choose the right purifier by room size, filter type, CADR, and maintenance cost. Breathe cleaner, healthier air at home.
1. Room Size
Match the air purifier capacity to your room size for effective purification.
Size Guide
• Up to 200 sq. ft.: Small rooms, bedrooms
• 200-400 sq. ft.: Medium rooms, living rooms
• 400-600 sq. ft.: Large rooms, open spaces
• 600+ sq. ft.: Multiple rooms, open floor plans
2. CADR Rating
CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) indicates how quickly the purifier can clean air.
Understanding CADR
• Dust CADR: Measures particle removal (dust, pollen)
• Smoke CADR: Measures smoke particle removal
• Pollen CADR: Measures pollen removal
Higher CADR = Faster air cleaning. Look for CADR at least 2/3 of room size.
3. Filter Types
Understanding different filter types helps you choose the right purifier.
Common Filters
• Pre-Filter: Captures large particles like dust and pet hair
• HEPA Filter: Captures 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns
• Activated Carbon: Removes odors, VOCs, and chemicals
• UV Filter: Kills bacteria and viruses
• Ionizer: Releases negative ions to attract pollutants
